Promoted by Liuyang Municipal Government, International Fireworks Association and related authorities and with substantial support from the management of Taicang Port and authorities of Taicang Marine Affairs, Customs, CIQ and public securities, a new channel for fireworks export –Taicang Port in Jiangsu Provine was opened recently. Starting from September, 2010 and with various combine efforts from Liuyang and Taicang, several batches of fireworks containers have been successfully sent to US, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan region via this port. Hunan Wideshine Logistics Co., Ltd played an active role in the domestic transportation.
Taicang Port, 70km away from Shanghai, is located at the south shore where the ocean meets Yangtze River and under the administration of Taicang City in Jiangsu Province. It possesses 11 direct export lines, 21 direct domestic routes and 59 branch lines to Yangshan and ports along Yangtze River. The nonstop containership network has covered US, Japan, Korea and Taiwan region etc.
Here’s how to export fireworks via this port: containers will be loaded in a supervised public storage in Liuyang, Hunan Province, after going through CIQ and customs formalities in Hunan, loaded containers will be trailed to Xia Ning Port in Changsha city or Yueyang Port in Yueyang city for lighter trans-shipment directly to containership in Taicang Port. In case of need, containers after customs formalities here in Liuyang can be trailed directly to Taicang Port for containerships. It will take only one week from loading in Liuyang to basic ports in Japan or Kao-hsiung port in Taiwan region.
According to Mr. Liu from Wideshine Logistics, it will save considerable transportation cost from Liuyang, main fireworks production area to Taicang than from Liuyang to Shanghai Port, and in comparison with Beihai port, it has overwhelming superiority, too. Additionally, acceptance of both 1.3G and 1.4G fireworks will greatly facilitate the export of fireworks from mainland China.
