Pennsylvania State police near Erie are investigating a burglary at a fireworks store that prompted a hazardous materials scare and closed two ramps to Interstate 90.
Police say somebody broke into the Phantom Fireworks store in North East Township about 10 p.m. Sunday (April 19).
Police responding to the alarm became concerned because whoever broke into the store left a gallon-sized plastic container full of a flammable liquid inside the store before leaving.
Police removed the fuel without incident and have yet to charge anyone in the burglary.
The nearby highway ramps reopened after the Erie County Hazardous Materials Response Team cleared the area.
